Alles, was Spool aufnimmt, bleibt auf deinem Mac.

Was Spool auf deinem Mac tut
Keine Weitergabe, kein Tracking
Privacy Policy for Spool (macOS)
In short: Spool does not collect any personal data. The app has no account, no analytics, no ads, and does not connect to any server. Everything Spool records stays on your Mac.

What Spool does on your Mac
- Camera: Spool shows your camera live in a round bubble on your screen. For automatic framing (“Follow Face”), Spool analyzes camera frames on your device using Apple’s Vision framework. Nothing is stored or transmitted. When you hide the bubble, Spool turns the camera off.
- Screen: Spool records only when you start a recording, and only the area, window or screen you select.
- Microphone and system audio: recorded only during a recording, and only if you turned them on in the options.
- Recordings: saved as MP4 files in the “Movies/Spool” folder on your Mac. When you stop, Spool puts the file on the clipboard so you can paste it yourself. Spool never uploads recordings. What you do with a file – for example sharing it by email or chat – is up to you; the privacy terms of that service then apply.
- Settings: the bubble’s position, size and zoom, the selected camera and your recording options are stored locally in the app’s settings on your Mac.
Permissions
macOS asks for camera, microphone and screen recording access when Spool first needs them. You can revoke them at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
No sharing, no tracking
Spool contains no analytics or advertising components, does not track you across apps or websites, and shares no data with third parties. Accordingly, Spool is labeled “Data Not Collected” on the App Store.
Apple
Apple handles downloads through the App Store or TestFlight under its own privacy policy. If you agreed in macOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple provides me with anonymized crash reports; I use them only to fix bugs.
Your rights
Since I receive no personal data from you through Spool, there is nothing for me to disclose, correct or delete. If you have questions, contact me at any time at lasse@cloudsurf.digital. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA).
Changes
If the way Spool handles data changes, I will update this page and the date above.
