What can I record?

A selected area, a window or an entire screen. A selected window stays in view as you move it. Capture your microphone and optionally include system audio.

What if I mess up my first sentence?

Click Restart twice to start again with the same selection. The countdown and recording controls stay out of the finished video.

Do I need an account or a subscription?

No. Spool is designed as a one-time purchase. The app needs no account, makes no server connections and doesn't upload your recordings.

Which Macs are supported?

Spool requires macOS 15 or later and supports Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It is available in English and German.

Where does my recording go?

Spool saves an MP4 file on your Mac, reveals it in Finder and copies the file to your clipboard. Paste it into any app that accepts video files.
